Grant Family Reunion

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind of vacations and family reunions. This past weekend we attended the Grant Family Reunion (my mom's side of the family) up at the Reid Ranch. This is another family tradition that we've done for years and years.  (My family's big on traditions, if you haven't noticed.) The Reids are my cousins and they and their family own and operate the ranch, which has been a huge blessing to our family to be able to have a place to hold our growing family reunions.

We drove up to the Ranch on Thursday morning and came home Saturday afternoon and filled the in between with horse-back riding, game playing, hot-tubbing, paddle-boating, archery, mini-golf, batting cages, lots of food, and lots of socializing with cousins that I only get to see maybe once or twice a year.

Dan and I took Ethan up to the horses so he could go for a little ride on the the two ponies, Lady and Tramp. 

 Ethan was a little scared, even though Tramp just stood there and Uncle Spencer was the one working that morning helping with the pony rides.

Okay, he was scared a lot. It wasn't one of his better mornings.

One of my uncles built this awesome air compressor launcher for paper rockets, so we built

 Ethan got to launch it. It was a pretty good flier!

Every reunion, we usually have one night where my grandparents or an uncle gives a presentation on someone in our genealogy. This year we had a Q&A session with my grandparents and my mom's 7 brothers and sisters got to ask them questions.

Dan taught Tucker and Mckenna a pirate chant and then proceeded to paddle around the whole lake and play bumper boats with anyone who came near them. 

 He also played on the playground with them too.

 Ethan and his 2nd cousin Ethan. The older Ethan told me that they would be Best Cousins and was always asking for Baby Ethan.

We loved hanging out with the nieces and nephews outside the Trading Post.

We had a great time hanging out with the family and relaxing at the ranch. I'm glad we've continued to make this such a fun tradition in our family.
