Texan Christmas

Dan and I drove to Texas to spend Christmas with his family this year. It was a long drive down to Orange, TX from Sandy, UT. We weren't planning on leaving until Sunday the 14th but we decided to head out before a huge snowstorm dumped lake effect on Salt Lake so we left early Saturday morning. Luckily, right after we got out of town, it started to snow. I guess Sandy ended up with about 6-8 inches of snow while we drove through Moab without seeing a single snowflake.

So while Salt Lake and Logan looked like this....

Texas looks like this!

When we arrived in Orange, TX this morning around 9:40 am, 24 hrs and 10 minutes after we left Sandy, it was about 65 degrees and sunny. It warmed up through out the day to about 70. We are going to have a warm Texan Christmas this year!

Glad you guys made it to Texas all right. I don't think we could do that drive straight through. Our drive home yesterday took 10 hours. Luckily it didn't snow on us, we just had to deal with the ice and snow still on the roads. Oh well. Have fun in Texas, we'll see you in less than 2 weeks!

Nice weather! Right now we are dealing with sub-zero temps here in Colorado. Last night Denver got down to -20. With the wind chill factor it was -45. Brrrrrr. Right about now Orange, Texas is looking mighty fine.
