Doctors, Shots, and Bandaids, Oh My!

Another month has come and gone and Ethan is 4 months old today. It's a strange feeling-- it seems like just last week I was having contractions on our way to work. Time seemed to go by so slow while we counted down the weeks until he was born and now it goes by too fast!

Ethan and I went to his 4 month appointment this morning. He was such a cutie about it! The nurses loved him! At first, he just stared at them with his big blue eyes then he started smiling, squealing, and wiggling around while being weighed and measured. He was cracking me up because he doesn't normally act like that around people he doesn't know.  So cute!

The stats for this month--Ethan weighs 13 lbs 5 oz and is 24 inches long. That puts him in around the 20th percentile for both, which is much better then his 2 month appointment when he was in the 5th percentile.

Dr. Clarke examined him and Ethan is right on track. He's a healthy, happy little boy! He said that between 4-6 months you can start feeding babies rice cereal with pureed fruit or veggies in it. So Ethan will get to try some in the next week or so and we'll see how he does. That ought to be an adventure! I'll post some pictures of the first time we try.

Ethan also had to get his booster shots during this visit, which made him very unhappy. He was smiling at the nurse and then his face just crumpled up and he started screaming like a banshee. At least it was only 3 shots.  Poor little guy! He is a little trooper though and after cuddling with Mom for a few minutes he calmed right down. When we got home, he went right to sleep for his morning nap.

It's a good thing he has such a happy disposition. He doesn't stay sad for very long.
