For the Birds

Last week we took Ethan up to First Dam in Logan Canyon to feed the ducks.  We had some bread that was going stale in the fridge (Note to self: don't buy more bread when Dan hasn't finished the last loaf) so we headed over to see if the geese, ducks, or seagulls would be interested.
As it turned out, they weren't.

I guess they already had full bellies from the tons of other people at First Dam eager to throw free food at them. That's what you get when you go in the late afternoon to try and feed the birds. Ethan was more interested in eating the bread than the ducks were so we sat on our blanket and let Ethan crawl around. When he wasn't stuffing handfuls of bread into his mouth, he was happily chewing on Dan's phone. I think he was having a particularly good day.

Still, it made for quality family time and a photo-op that I couldn't pass up. So here's our happy family enjoying the warm weather.

In the end, Dan did manage to lure over a couple of geese that were looking for leftovers or maybe 2nds (or 3rds) which we happily obliged and proceeded to chuck what was left of the bread at them.
Two minutes later, a flock of roving children with plastic grocery bags full of bread swarmed over to us and commandeered our geese, which consequently scared the birds (and us) away.
