Yesterday, we celebrated my 26th birthday and my Mom's 56th birthday! Yes, I was born on her birthday and every year we get to celebrate together. It must make it easy for my family to remember. They can get my Mom and I Happy Birthday-ified in one fell swoop.
So since we share a birthday and neither of us had significant daytime plans, my mom, Sue, made the trek up to Logan and we went out to lunch together. Dan came too and treated us to a Chili's birthday lunch where we both got free birthday chocolate shakes.
We even shared with Dan and we let Ethan try a little. I also got my birthday present from my wonderful hubby and darling son--A 1-hour massage! Don't I have the most awesome family in the world?!
Afterwards, we (minus Dan) went to the Hobby Lobby and Michaels and browsed to our hearts content through all the crafty things. There's something about shopping for crafty stuff with your mom that just makes the whole experience much more fun. So after a couple hours of shopping, we went home so I could show off all my most recent crafts for the crafty-less (I'll post on that tomorrow) and Ethan could take his much-needed late nap. It was great getting to spend our birthday together doing what we do best--eating and shopping.
On that note, after Mom went home and Ethan had his nap, I got ready to go out again. This time to dinner with Dan because what's a birthday without dinner with your #1 fan?
We took Ethan over to our friends house and we went out to dinner at Gaucho Grill, a Brazilian rodizio style restaurant here in Logan. It was really good! Well, maybe not $20-a-person good but, hey, it was a special occasion.
One word, people--Abacaxi.
Or in English--grilled pineapple with a brown sugar glaze. Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot! I am such a sucker for this delicious, delectable dessert. I could eat it everyday. I'd probably end up looking like a pineapple within a week but it would be so worth it.
Anywho, after dinner we picked up our kid (a shout out to the Oldhams for watching him for us) and spent a relaxing evening at home trying to digest the 16 different kinds of Brazilian meats we ingested. So my 26th birthday was a resounding success and I'm glad I was able to share it with my Mom! Love you, Mom!
Big hugs and kisses go out to my wonderful, loving husband and son who made it such a special day for me!
