Happy Birthday Austin!!

We celebrated Austin's 1st birthday with a big party with all of his cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and great-grandpa at our house. Ethan helped me decorate our apartment like a fish tank since little man LOVES watching Finding Nemo, anything with fish, and has even started trying to make the fish faces back at me when we play.  So we decorated with blue crepe paper, lots of construction paper fish, and ballons. We made Austin a special fish birthday cake and cupcakes with swedish fish on them. They turned out really cute!

Opening presents was quite the ordeal. Austin had 5 cousins and a very excited brother all clamouring to help him unwrap (and play) with his gifts.

After presents we got the cake and ice cream ready. We let Austin blow out look at his candle, which he thought was pretty fun and wanted to grab it. He really wanted some cake!
We ended up giving him his own cupcake. We took of his shirt so it wouldn't end up with loads of blue frosting on it and he went to town.  We skyped with Dan's parents so they could watch him blow out the candles and get a piece of his birthday cake.
He was one happy baby! The cousins all wanted to take the balloons home so as they were leaving I snapped a picture of the door Ethan helped me decorate. You can't see the bottom, but I'm pretty sure Austin got to it at one point because it look like some of the crepe paper had been gnawed on. Silly baby.

Austin (and Ethan)  is very happy with all his fun, new gifts. Thanks for making his 1st birthday so much fun!
