Moving and Remodeling!

Dan and I officially moved out of our townhouse last Saturday. The townhouse was our first apartment after we got married and it was a little bittersweet. I really liked our townhouse. It was just the right size and we loved our ward! However, on Saturday, we finished the last of the cleaning, handed in our keys, and said goodbye forever.

Then we moved into our house!

We've owned the house since last October when we actually closed on the loan, but we've been renting it out to college students for the last year. Once graduation came around, the girls that lived there all moved out and Dan and I began to move all of our stuff (and there was a LOT of stuff) into the house. It's been about a 2 week process, slowly moving truck load after truck load of books, clothes, foods, shoes, and furniture over to the house, but we finally brought over the last load on the Saturday that we moved out of our townhouse.

Now my only challenge is wading through all of our stuff and deciding where we want to put it. I've spent the last week shuffling furniture around since we are also remodeling our kitchen and the master bedroom. The kitchen and the master bedroom only had one outlet each. The kitchen's was behind the fridge and the bedroom's was right next to the door. So Dan and I tore out the walls and wired more outlets in the kitchen and the bedroom. I took some pictures of the demolition phase and then reconstruction.

I'll post more picture once the kitchen is closer to being finished and once we start on the bedroom. We chose to do one room at a time, otherwise I don't know if we'd ever finish it this summer!

Too bad the lighting isn't better in your picture of the kitchen torn up. It doesn't show how truly ragged it was.

Looks like so much fun. I know it's a lot of work, but anything that's hard makes you appreciate it that much more!
