Visitors!

Now that we are home it's been a lot easier for visitors to come by and see Austin. We've limited visitors to adults only since it is RSV season and NICU babies on oxygen are highly susceptible to catching it. That would spell major problems for Austin, especially since he started out with lung problems. So we are being very cautious and I've gone a bit overboard making sure people wash their hands and use hand sanitizer before touching Austin. I figure its better to be safe than sorry and I really don't want to end up back in the NICU!

Austin and his Great-Grandpa Foster
Lisa and Cody stopped by last week after one of Lisa's treatments. She showed off her new wigs and her awesome "Cancer Sucks!" pin.  Doesn't she make a cute blonde?
Ethan and I had fun putting up our one and only St. Patrick's Day decoration. Window stickers. Ethan loves them.
Austin did have his first pediatrician visit last Friday. It's taken me forever to post about it. It was all good news! He weighed 6lbs 12oz, so he's gaining his weight back just like he should be. He dropped to 6lbs 7oz in the NICU but it's normal for newborns to lose weight the week after being born.  Here's his stats for being 2 weeks old!

20th percentile for weigh-6lbs 12oz
15th percentile for height-19 1/2 inches
40th percentile for head circumference

We set an appointment to get more chest x-rays taken in a couple of weeks and if his lungs and heart both look good then they'll take him off the oxygen.
