Blueberries, Blueberries, and more Blueberries!!!

Tri-cities is surrounded by quite a bit of agriculture and there are always tons of places you can buy or pick fresh fruit in the summer. We were told about an awesome organic blueberry farm where we could go pick buckets of them for $3/lb so we loaded the boys up and headed out to the farm with our friends.
Austin was in blueberry heaven. Once we showed him how to pick berries and which ones were okay to eat, he went to town.
We brought home 7 1/2 lbs.
Austin ate about 7lbs while we were there.

Ethan wanted to have his own bucket and collected quite a bit before it got too heavy for him.
Then Daddy took over.
We took our berries and made wonderfully delicious goodies like
Blueberry Buckle Pie
 and homemade Blueberry Ice Cream...
...which was so good we made it twice and shared it at several different BBQ's with friends and got tons of compliments on it!

I also made Blueberry Pie Filling, Blueberry Freezer Jam, Blueberry popsicles, Blueberry smoothies, and Blueberry syrup!

The boys and I went back the next week and picked 7 more pounds to freeze so we'll have blueberries to last us all winter! Can't wait to do this again next year!
